Lock Lane pull off Challenge Cup upset

GIANT-killers Castleford Lock Lane caused an upset in the Carnegie Challenge Cup on Saturday.
Lane, who are in National Conference League Division Two, won 21-16 at Shaw Cross Sharks.
The Castleford side repeated their recent surprise 16-12 win over Dudley Hill in the BARLA National Cup second round.
Like Dudley Hill, Shaw Cross are in Division One of the Conference League.
Shaw Cross were brought down to earth after the previous week's 16-13 home league win over Castleford Panthers.
Lock Lane now visit Waterhead in round one.
Castleford Panthers and Summer Conference outfit Featherstone Lions received byes into round one.
Panthers host Leigh Miners Rangers and Lions have a home game against Hull University.
Leigh Miners Rangers won 40-12 at Stanley Rangers in the preliminary round on Saturday.
First round matches are scheduled for the weekend of January 24-25.
