CASTLEFORD Tigers have made an "unreserved" apology to fans for their performance at Millennium Magic on Saturday.
And they are planning to offer a refund to supporters who travelled down to Cardiff where the Tigers were thrashed by Wakefield Wildcats.
CEO Richard Wright said: "I think everyone knew that Saturday's game was always about who wanted it most and so it proved. There were no surprises from the opposition, we were at strength, and there can be no excuses. The players are well paid and well looked after. With that comes a responsibility to give their all every week and to have nothing left in the tank at the end of every game.
"We lost our captains early in the game but it was up to somebody else to step up to the mark. It only takes a big hit or a strong run to inspire others, but no one took it upon themselves to give us that.
"As are a result we are planning to offer those fans who bought their tickets from the club a reduction in the in the price of Tigers home tickets/merchandise to the value of 50% of their Millennium ticket price.
"We hope that in some small way this move offers a little compensation to those who traveled down to Wales and deserved better than what was on offer from their team."
Details of the refunds will be issued later in the week.
