KEVIN Eadie's last-gasp try gave Featherstone their first away victory of the Co-operative National League One campaign - and got newly-appointed head coach Danny Evans' career off to a perfect start.
It wasn't always pretty and Evans' side had to come from 18-10 behind early in the second half to break their away-day misery.
Unconverted tries from Andy Kirk and Lee Lingard hauled the visitors level but Featherstone then had to absorb tremendous late pressure before snatching it at the death.
The clinching try was set up by the influential Paul Handforth, who was closed down as he set himself for a drop goal.
So the half-back improvised, chipping over the top and twice hacking on for the supporting substitute Eadie to plunge on the loose ball.
Captain Stuart Dickens converted and Evans, confirmed as new head coach just two days earlier, was left to reflect on a winning start.
