CASTLEFORD Tigers star Michael Shenton is taking it easy this week after his Gillette Four Nations final appearance came to a crunching halt at Elland Road on Saturday night.
The 23-year-old centre was enjoying his best game of the tournament as England matched Australia for the first hour before being knocked spark out after an accidental head clash with Ben Hannant.
Shenton received lengthy treatment on the pitch and was carried off on a stretcher, but had recovered sufficiently by the end to take his place for the medal presentations.
"He was knocked out cold and when we got there he was very drowsy," said England doctor Chris Brookes.
"But he came round and he's fine. He can't remember the incident, but he remembers most of the game, which is the main thing."
Up to his injury Shenton had played every minute of England's games in the tournament and he returns to The Jungle with his reputation enhanced.
