JULY 22 is D-day for the 19 clubs seeking a three-year Super League licence from 2009, the RFL revealed this week.
The 14 clubs to win a licence will be informed at 10am that day, with the decision made public an hour later.
Seven clubs are competing with the 12 existing Super League sides for 14 places between 2009-2011.
Featherstone Rovers were among the seven non-Super League clubs who applied for a licence but Salford, Widnes and Celtic are thought to be among the front-runners.
Halifax, Leigh Centurions and Toulouse also submitted applications for a three-year licence.
Clubs are being assessed in four areas - stadium facilities, finance and business performance, commercial and marketing and playing strength, including junior production and development.
After scruitinising each club's application, an RFL team headed in in-house solicitor Rod Findlay will make recommendations to the league's board of directors.
