Eighteen-year-old full-back or winger Owen, who has scored 24 tries in 44 first-team appearances for the Tigers, is available after recovering from a calf injury.
Castleford coach Terry Matterson said: "Ritchie has had a calf strain but he has trained okay over the past week and he is very keen to have a run out, so I have added him to the squad and he'll feature against Gateshead."

"I'm sure that our fans will be looking forward to seeing some of the new signings.
"Rangi (Chase) hasn't played for quite a long time. He didn't play hell of a lot of footy after he signed here. He's heard a lot about what the crowd's like here and he's looking forward to it.
"It is also a good opportunity to have a look at some of the very promising young players coming through. It will give the young guys a little bit more experience."
