CASTLEFORD Tigers' work in the Barnsley community continues to gather pace especially through links formed with the Barugh Green School.
It was the school's Samba band (pictured) who entertained the crowd at Saturday's game with Catalans Dragons and more than 60 people attended from the Barnsley area, 24 being members of the band but around a further 40 people taking advantage of special priced tickets.

These added to a significant number of people from Barnsley who are already fans of the Tigers.

Entertainments ,anager Darren Payne said: "This initiative isn't something that we expect to yield hundreds of new fans over the course of the season, but 'from small acorns' as they say, and we are aware of a growing interest in the Barnsley area and it is something that we see as an ongoing process.

"In fact, in conjunction with the Barugh Green School, we are holding a Tigers Awareness event in the Barnsley town centre on July 25 and we will be continuing to visit more schools."
