Three teams from the Badgers karting club have qualified for a regional final.

The Gold, Silver and Bronze teams all made it through in a qualification event held at the Raceway karting track, in Pontefract, in which the four top teams would go through to the northern area final.

Each team consisted of three drivers racing twice for 10 minutes. The Gold team achieved a 100 per-cent record, winning all six races, the Silver team came second and the Bronze team a hard fought fourth place. All three will now take place in the regional finals at the Three Sisters Racetrack, in Wigan, in April.

Team member PC Ian Heaslip, from Pontefract Neighbourhood Policing team, said this was a fantastic achievement for all three teams to qualify for the northern area final and showed the hard work put in by the drivers and back up staff. He also thanked Andy Hirst, the owner of Raceway karting, for his support.
