CASTLEFORD Kings speedway team have signed Liam Rumsey and Max Clegg for the 2013 season.

Rumsey, 23, who has experience at a higher level with Stoke, will be team captain.

Fifteen-year-old Clegg from Huddersfield raced for the Kings team in a friendly at Coventry this year when he was unbeaten in that match.

The Kings have successfully applied to join the Midland Development League next year.

Team manager Peter Hibberd is spearheading a move to bring speedway back to Castleford for the first time for 32 years. The club are trying to identify a site in the area which would be suitable to again stage the sport locally.

Until land is found, the Kings will share the stadium and facilities at Scunthorpe for staging home meetings.
