Castleford Tigers have been handed a boost with fans favourite Justin Carney signing a new five-year contract.

The 25-year-old winger, whose existing deal was due to expire at the end of 2014, has scored 31 tries in 28 games in all competitions for the Tigers since his move from Sydney Roosters before the start of last season, including a hat-trick in the Tetley’s Challenge Cup victory against Batley Bulldogs last weekend.

Speaking on his new contract, Justin Carney said: “It’s a good feeling; there’s been a few stressful months trying to figure out what I wanted to do, but I knew that I really wanted to stay and I’m pleased that it all worked out in the end.
