Castleford Tigers came up with a thumping victory over Bradford Bulls in their first serious test of pre-season at Odsal.
Daryl Powell’s men ran out 66-10 winners with winger Kirk Dixon leading the way with a hat-trick of tries and nine goals for a personal haul of 30 points.
The Bulls were without several first teamers, but although they fielded a strong side the Tigers also have a few more to come in and were delighted with the way they played two weeks ahead of a return to the same ground for the opening Super League match.
One of Castleford’s new signings, Luke Dorn, opened the scoring before the Bulls hit back with an Elliot Kear try.
Dixon’s first put Castleford back in front, but home prop Nick Scruton charged over to level the scores.
At this stage it looked being nip and tuck, but Cas simply ran away with it from then on, preventing Bradford from scoring again.
Hooker Daryl Clark crossed for two tries and Richard Owen also went over to make it 26-10 at the break.
Cas continued their good work into the second half with Michael Shenton, Weller Hauraki (two) and Adam Milner all scoring in their first game of pre-season.
Dixon completed his hat-trick before another new man, Frankie Mariano, finished off the scoring on an impressive outing for the Tigers.
