Chase suspended by Castleford

MAN of Steel Rangi Chase has been suspended on full pay by Castleford Tigers while the club investigates his actions last weekend.

A short statement from the Tigers said: “The club hope for the conclusion of this matter sooner rather than later and will not comment further on the situation at this stage so to not prejudice the case for either party.”

Chase was left out of the Cas team for their away game at Leeds Rhinos last Sunday, but head coach Ian Millward has remained tight lipped on the reasons why.

It is believed that Chase missed training on Saturday before the Rhinos game followed an alleged breaching of club rules.

The England half-back signed a five-year contract with the Tigers last year, but has been linked with a big money transfer in recent weeks with Warrington and Huddersfield showing interest and Chase himself saying he would be interested in talking to Wigan if they came in for him.
