Tigers winger Youngquest announces retirement

CASTLEFORD Tigers’ Australian outside back Nick Youngquest has announced that he will retire from professional rugby league at the end of the season.

Youngquest, 28, joined the Tigers from the Crusaders at the end of 2010 having previously played for Gateshead Thunder in Championship One.

He had spells at St George Illawarra Dragons, Penrith Panthers and Canterbury Bulldogs in the NRL before coming to the UK.

Youngquest announced his retirement today via Twitter, saying: “As retirement’s the order of the day, I’m going to retire from professional rugby at the end of the season. It’s been while it lasted!

“I’ve had an unreal time playing rugby, met some great people and made life long friends. So thanks to everyone for the memories!”
