Castleford CC were edged out after looking on course for victory against Cleethorpes in the Solly Sports Yorkshire ECB County Premier League.
Set 183 for victory, Cleethorpes looked in trouble at 56-5 then 115-6, but their lower order men came to their rescue and they reached their target with three wickets to spare in the 54th over.
Jarran Cook made early inroads as he dismissed Tom Rollinson and David Mansfield cheaply and Eddie Morrison bowled potential danger man Alex Osmond for only four.
With Jack Shutt coming on as second change bowler to strike twice Cleethorpes were really struggling.
But opener Bill Kirby remained out in the middle and he found a willing ally in James Keast with the pair putting on 59 for the sixth wicket.
When Keast was trapped lbw by Shutt for 36, Kirby and Ryan Harrison then put on a further 64 to take the game away from Cas.
Shutt did bowl Kirkby for 71 to claim his fourth wicket, but the damage had been done and Harrison saw Cleethorpes home with 39 not out.
In Castleford’s 182 all out the top five all contributed before the innings fell away with the last seven wickets going down for 21 runs.
Charles Finan (43) and Andrew Chadwick (42) put on 81 for the fourth wicket before the collapse while Luke Frankland hit 32, James Sykes 18 and Dominic Sharp 15.
Castleford seconds were back to winning ways in Division Three North of the York Senior League when they beat second from top Sheriff Hutton by 58 runs.
A terrific knock of 97 from Nathan Smith was at the heart of a decent total posted by Castleford as they made 205-9.
Sheriff Hutton were then bowled out for 147 with Smith following up his batting heroics with a 4-27 spell and Vani taking 3-42.
