ELLIOTT Plant (pictured), a member of Featherstone-based Phantoms Kickboxing Club, won a gold medal at the EMA British Open Championships at Chorley, Lancashire.

The 13-year-old, pictured with his medal, fought in the boys plus 160cms semi contact points division.

Competing against much older, more experienced fighters, he battled through to the final where he beat his opponent by two clear points to become EMA British champion.

Fellow club member Alfie Beresford, aged six, fought in the kids under 120cms semi contact points deivision and gave in a very brave performance but was edged out by a more experienced opponent.
