Featherstone Rovers have announced that Robin Sharp has been appointed head of youth performance with immediate effect.
Sharp, who recently returned to Featherstone Rovers, will work closely with all coaches at the club in developing young talent to challenge for the first team.
He said: “I’m really pleased to be given this fantastic opportunity.
“It’s a role that I am really passionate about and one that I feel I can add value to.
“I am really looking forward to working with all the staff at Featherstone Rovers. The club is continuing to grow in all areas.
“With regards to youth development, our aim is to challenge for the best young players in the surrounding areas of Yorkshire. It will take time but we are building blocks for the future.
“We now have a quality Talent ID team in place with some good experience within there to identify the best talent in the local area.
“Our facilities are continuing to improve and our new Training Centre of Excellence will rank up there with the best in English rugby league. This is through the outstanding work headed by Mark Campbell, Paul Coventry and a fantastic group of volunteers.
“It’s a very exciting time to be joining Rovers in our quest for Super League.”
Incoming Featherstone Rovers head coach John Bastian said: “Robin has a wealth of experience working with young players around Featherstone and the local community. He is very proactive and has a great knowledge which will prove invaluable. He is a well respected, enthusiastic and hard working individual who is determined to be a success at Featherstone Rovers.
“I am sure his enthusiasm will rub off on all the staff at Featherstone Rovers and young players who are keen to learn and develop their game and reach their true potential.”
