Haley agrees new Rovers contract
MICK Haley has agreed a new Rovers contract.
FORMER Leeds Rhinos and Sheffield Eagles prop Mick Haley, who was out of contract at Featherstone Rovers, has agreed a new deal to stay at the club.
The 25-year-old forward missed the final two months of last season after he sustained a broken foot in the 21-12 defeat against Halifax in the Northern Rail Cup final at Blackpool at the end of July.
Rovers coach Daryl Powell said: “Mick has agreed a new contract and we just need to get him to sign it and then we are sorted.
“He should be okay after the injury last season and when he comes back in we’ll have a good look at him.”
Powell will be having talks with threequarter or back rower Nathan Chappell who is out of contract.
“To be honest, I’m not sure where that is going to go to. I need to have a chat with Nathan which I haven’t been able to do to date,” he added.
