Featherstone gave a dazzling first-half display in Sunday’s 58-12 win over promoted Barrow Raiders in the Kingstone Press Championship.

Rovers, who are odds on favourites to finish as league leaders for a fourth successive season, led 46-0 at half-time against the winless Cumbrians.

Rovers not as dominant in the second-half after being disrupted by injuries to Jack Bussey, Matty Dale and Andy Kain.

Barrow put up more fight in the second period which ended all square at 12-12.

Liam Finn led Featherstone’s scoring with a 70th minute try and nine goals from 10 kicks as he stretched his scoring run to 49 consecutive Rovers matches.

The other nine Rovers tries were all scored by different players, with Anthony England (5 minutes), Ben Kaye (15), Matt James (19), Ian Hardman (22), Kain (25), Dale (29), Tommy Saxton (35), Tom Hodson (37) and James Lockwood (60) joining in the spree.

Dan Toal scored Barrow’s two tries, both goaled by Sean Casey.
