Rovers prop England agrees new deal

FEATHERSTONE Rovers prop Anthony England (pictured) has agreed a new two-year contract that will keep him at Bigfellas Stadium until at least the end of the 2014 season.

The 25-year-old, a close-season signing from Dewsbury Rams, has been outstanding for Featherstone this year.

England said: "I’ve enjoyed being part of such a professionally run club and have had no hesitation in agreeing a two-year extension to my contract and I am really looking forward to being part of the exciting times ahead at Rovers."

Rovers head coach Daryl Powell said: "Anthony has been a strong performer this season and I am delighted he has agreed to stay at the club for the next two years. He is big, strong and aggressive which has been the hallmark of our forward pack throughout the year. Anthony can now focus on helping the team achieve our goals for this most crucial part of the season."

Featherstone chief executive Craig Poskitt said: "Anthony has not only settled at Featherstone Rovers but he has made a significant impact on the side. He has put in some performances of the very highest standard this season and we are delighted hehas committed for a further two years. Anthony joins a growing list of players who have committed their future to the club which is testament to the coaching staff and what we are trying to achieve at Featherstone Rovers."
