YORK firm Dunning Plant Hire will be the principal sponsors of the Featherstone Rovers under 19s academy side next seaon.
Mark Dunning, managing director of Dunning Plant Hire, first became involved with Rovers three years ago by sponsoring the club’s scholarship.
Dunning Plant were the club’s main scholarship scholarship in 2011 and 2012 and their name also appeared on the first-team playing kit last season after they won a raffle to be the official short sponsor.
They were also match ball sponsor for Featherstone’s Challenge Cup fifth round tie against Wigan Warriors.
Dunning Plant will now appear on the front of the under 19s academy playing shirt next season.
Rovers commercial manager Paul Taylor (pictured) said: “All at Featherstone Rovers would like to thank Mark Dunning and Dunning Plant Hire for agreeing to be our principal partner for our under 19s side.
“Unlike Super League clubs, we have to raise the finance ourselves through fundraising activities and sponsorship. Dunning Plant Hire are terrific supporters of everything we do at Featherstone Rovers and their support is vital for us to continue developing our own players.”
Mark Dunning said: “I’ve been really impressed with Featherstone Rovers since becoming involved three years ago.
“I am a big believer in clubs developing their own talent and the Rovers are committed to youth development despite not receiving external support.
“The whole club at all levels on the field are progressing and off the field the club is moving forward with ground re-developments, commercially with new partnerships such as Linpac Packaging who are supporting the under 16s and in the community.
“All in all, it’s a great club to be involved and associated with.”
