Pontefract Collieries dropped down to ninth place in Division One after losing their final home game of the season 3-1 to AFC Emley.
Ponte went into the game unbeaten in four, but were left chasing it after going behind in the first half.
Max Leonard put Emley ahead on the half-hour and Reuben Jerome doubled their advantage five minutes into the second half. Mark Simpson pulled a goal back for the hosts on 65 minutes and they pushed for an equaliser only to have their hopes dashed when Steve Kenworthy netted five minutes from time.
Colls play their last game of the campaign away to 15th-placed Dronfield Town this Saturday (3pm) with a top five finish still achievable.
