Glasshoughton Welfare hold presentation evening

Glasshoughton Welfare looked back on an encouraging season when they held their presentation night at the club.

The event was combined with a race night and proved a big success with plenty to be pleased about after the club have improved results on the pitch under joint managers Darren Holmes and Lee Vigars and steadied the ship after a couple of disappointing years.

Welfare have been battling to finish in the top 10 in Division One of the Toolstation NCE League and reached the semi-finals of the League Cup.

The committee, management and players thanked everyone who turned up and who sponsored the races and purchased the horse and jockeys to make it happen. They also thanked all the sponsors for their continued support and everyone who has followed Glasshoughton throughout the season.

A number of trophies were handed out and winners were:

First team committee player of the year: Ryan Poskitt.

First team managers player of the year: Andrew McManus.

First team players’ player of the year: Ryan Poskitt.

U19s top goal scorer: Tom Macrow.

U19s most improved: Aaron Wilcock.

U19s MOM: Reece Horn.

U19s managers player: Jake Tonkinson.

U19s captain’s player: Reece Adamson.

U19s players’ player: Alfie Hill.
