Glasshoughton Welfare are looking for a new manager after Craig Wilkinson followed Simon Houghton in quitting at the Northern Counties East League Division One side.

Wilkinson and Houghton took over as joint managers of the club following the departure of Mick Norbury in December and brought about an improvement in fortunes with Welfare finishing in 16th position.

After Houghton quit his role at the end of the season because of work commitments, Wilkinson was offered the job on a solo basis, but was unable to commit to the manager’s position and he has also now left the club.

Glasshoughton have advertised for a new manager and had a good response with interviews ongoing to decide who takes over in time for the new season, which starts in August.

Whoever is in charge next season will face a new team with Campion, who play at Manningham Mills, being confirmed by the FA as promoted from the West Riding County Amateur League.

Welfare are also looking for a new programme editor with interested persons asked to contact frank. maclachlan@btinternet.com or garrymollon4295@gmail.com
