CASTLEFORD Town Golds under 10s celebrated the end of their season in high spirits with their annual presentation evening.

Players, friends and family were invited to celebrate a nail-biting run for league success. Cas were leaders from an early stage before ending up being tied with two other clubs, only two points stopping them from sealing the title in a thrilling finish.

The presentation night featured a disco and food buffet supplied by players’ parents, who also donated raffle prizes. All the players received a golden boot trophy along with a laminated players season summary and also a DVD slideshow of moments throughout their season.

Special awards were handed out to coaches player of the year Tommy Britton, most improved player Ellis Morgan, 100 per cent effort winner Tyler Lynch, clubman of the year Jack Metcalf and player’ player Ellis Newbould.

Other team members who played their part during the season were Jacob Slater, Sam Bell, Nathan Baker, Max Clayton, Tyler Wild, Connor Hine, Owen Schofield and Keir Rothwell.

Manager Roger Newbould said: “What a great way to celebrate our season with all players and parents coming together for what was a really fun night. We now say goodbye to seven-a-side football and look forward to a new season.

“We’ve had a superb season and seeing the kids from the second team develop so much has only given themselves and players around them more ability and confidence to take forward. We even had the opportunity to play at Doncaster Rovers this year in a mini tournament that both players and parents fully enjoyed.”
