PONTEFRACT footballer Ben Parker could be heading to League One club Sheffield United.

Sheffield have been linked with a move for the 24-year-old former Featherstone St Wilfrid’s RC High School pupil following his release from Leeds United.

Sheffield United manager Danny Wilson is considering a move for former England under 19 international left back Parker after releasing Andy Taylor and losing Lescinel Jean-Francois to a serious knee injury.

Parker (pictured) made 41 first-team appearances for Leeds after signing for them in 2005 from their youth team. He has also had spells on loan at Bradford, Darlington and Carlisle.

Parker’s injury-plagued spell with Leeds ended in April when he and the club agreed to terminate his contract ahead of its expiry at the end of this month.
