Pontefract Collieries suffered a 2-0 defeat when they travelled to play new Premier Division leaders Tadcaster Albion on Tuesday night.
Up against a side that had only suffered one defeat so far this season Colls knew they were always going to be up against it, but they battled well and the points were only sealed by Albion in the last minute.
Jimmy Beadle gave Tadcaster the advantage at the break with a 35th minute goal and it remained 1-0 until the 90th minute when Adam Baker’s goal finally ended Pontefract’s resistance.
Collieries, however, came up with a good win when they beat Rainworth MW 1-0 on Saturday.
Aaron Moxam’s 63rd minute penalty proved the only goal of the game as Ponte beat a side that started the day eight points above them.
Colls now have two home games as they entertain Barton Town Old Boys this Saturday (3pm) and then Liversedge next Wednesday.
