Pontefract Collieries ended their 11-match run without a win when they came away from Retford with a 3-1 victory last Saturday.
Craig Parry’s men have made a habit of scoring late goals in recent weeks, but this time made it count to take all three points to boost their bid to avoid relegation in the Premier Division of the Toolstation NCE League.
Josh Corbett gave Ponte a flying start with a goal after just six minutes.
Retford, who came into the game five places higher than Colls, hit back through Gareth Campion on 69 minutes, but Colls produced a big finish.
Striker Kinsley Wetherald put them back ahead five minutes from time before Steve Palfrey ensured it would be the Ponte side celebrating at the end with their third goal in the final minute.
Collieries were in action again on Tuesday night when they were away at bottom of the table Liversedge, who were staging their first home game since October.
But it did not go so well as they lost 3-1 with Jack Mawson scoring their only goal in the 85th minute.
Colls now face a six-pointer when at home to second from bottom Nostell MW this Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
They have been boosted by the return to the club of striker Liam Radford, who has been playing for Nostell.
