Pontefract Collieries remain in deep relegation trouble in the Premier Division of the Toolstation NCE League following a heavy defeat at nearby Garforth Town.
A 6-1 result left them third from bottom with three games left to save their top flight status.
They were two down in the first six minutes and left with an uphill task although Chris Kamara scored just before the break to keep them in the contest at 3-1.
But former Colls player Mark Simpson added a fourth Garforth goal early in the second half and two goals in the last 18 minutes sealed Ponte’s fate.
Colls now host mid-table Clipstone this Saturday (3pm) before playing their last home game of the season against title challengers Handsworth Parramore next Wednesday (7.45pm).
