Pontefract Collieries had to settle for a point when they hosted early season pacesetters Winterton Rangers in Division One of the Toolstation NCE League.
Craig Parry’s men found themselves behind at half-time after Matthew Crane put away a penalty, but they were level two minutes after the break as Kane Reece netted.
Mickey Dunn, with his tenth goal of the season, put Ponte ahead with 14 minutes to play and they looked set to be celebrating a victory that would have put them up to second place. But Winterton battled back and within six minutes levelled the game up again as Jamie Richardson netted.
Both sides went for it in the closing stages, but it stayed 2-2 to the final whistle with the result leaving Colls three points behind Winterton, although they have three games in hand.
This Saturday Ponte travel to play tenth placed Brigg Town and next Tuesday they host Yorkshire Amateur in a first round County Cup tie.
