Former champions Streethouse still without a win

Ten-times Pontefract League champions Streethouse are still looking for their first Division One win this season after losing by nine wickets to Fairburn at Whinney Lane on Saturday.

Paul Langley and Mohammed Bashir, who each hit 32, were the only batsmen who made an impression as Streethouse were toppled for 139 by the Abdy brothers Simon (3-34), Guy (2-18) and Jake (2-28).

Guy Abdy (50no), James Clegg (44) and Craig Piggott (38no) led the way as Fairburn knocked off the runs in 27.2 overs.

Second-placed Fairburn are three points behind leaders South Kirkby who trounced Fishlake.

Jake Rimmington (77), Richie Bresnan (54), Steve Secker (48) and Dale Woolsey (30no) guided Kirkby to 266-4 and the Woolsey brothers Dale (5-43) and Dean (3-40) routed Fishlake for 103.

Ackworth maintained their title challenge with a nine-wicket success at promoted West Bretton.

Dale Longfield (4-26) limited West Bretton to 160-9 which included David Hoyle’s unbeaten 48.

It took Ackworth only 23.3 overs to overhaul the target, with openers Joe Seddon (81no) and Connor Hyde (75) putting on 157.

Old Sharlston’s championship hopes title were dented by 57-run home defeat against Askern.

Robert Simpson (5-50) and Jason Ball (2-27) kept Askern at 179 but Sharlston’s reply fell well short when they collapsed to 122 all out after Mark Reeves (39) and Steve Roberts (35) had given them a solid start.

Askern’s Ash Towler struck 68 and Sachira Madapatha snapped up 6-39.

All rounder Steve Hardaker claimed 4-52 and hit 40 in Hooton Pagnell’s six-wicket victory at Frickley Colliery.

Openers Corey Roebuck (73no) and Lee Ogden (49no) shared an unbroken 132-run partnership in 18.5 overs in Monk Bretton’s 10-wicket win at Nostell.

Featherstone continued their climb in Division Two with their third straight victory.

They eased to a six-wicket win againsat bottom team Crofton who were toppled for 70 by Todd Davis (4-13), David Hiorns (3-20) and Tom Wragg (2-36).

Brook-Walton lost top spot with a 58-run home defeat against Stainborough.

Sandal are the new leaders after beating Rothwell by 34 runs.

Glasshoughton won by seven wickets at Knottingley who were routed for 86 by Jordan Mills (5-19), Darren Sharp (3-20) and Alex Clemo (2-19).

Glasshoughton’s reply started shakily but an unb roken fourth wicket stand between Matthew Charlton and Stuart Adamson, who each hit 31 not out, steered them to victory.

Allerton Bywater lost by three wickets to Hatfield after being bowled out for 107.

Tom Greeneood (41), Matt Longdon (25) and Jacob wright (22) were the only Allerton batsmen who reached double figures.

Allerton’s Usman Bashir, Gareth Portman and Jacob Wright each claimed two wickets.

Division Three leaders Hundhill Hall coasted to a nine-wicket win at Bentley.

Peter Ferguson (6-12) and Josh Hurcomb (3-22) skittled Bentley for 40 and the East Hardwick team knocked off the runs in 9.1 overs with Ben Dunn-Birch unbeaten on 30.

Third-placed Whitley Bridge maintained their promotion challenge with a seven-wicket success against Notton who were toppled for 112 by Matt Draper (4-17) and Lewis Longstaff (2-15).

Skipper James Pearson’s unbeaten 62 saw Whitley safely home.

Streethouse came out on top in a high scoring game at Brodsworth.

Jonathan Nickerson (87), Lee Stuckey (66), Craig Tennany (34no) and Richard Hossack (28no) guided Streethouse to 244-3 and Brodsworth’s reply fell six runs short, despite Alex Snaith’s unbeaten century.

Jack Hart (5-42) and Jonathan Ding (48no) shone for Ferrybridge in a three-wicket win at Division Four rivals Thorpe Audlin.

Scott Murray (37 and 2-44) and Matthew Faulkner (3-33) were Thorpe’s best performers.

Nigel Malyan (22) and Gareth Webber (14) were the only Ackworth batsmen who reached double figures as they were routed for 63in a 108-run defeat against Bullcroft Main.
