Four teams compete in charity cricket tournament

GLASSHOUGHTON Cricket Club are staging a charity tournament and players’ reunion at their Leeds Road ground today (Sunday).

Proceeds will be divided between the Anthony Nolan Blood Cancer Charity and the Prince of Wales Hospice, Pontefract.

Four teams will take part in a knock out tournament.

Two sides will comprise current Glasshoughton players, there will be a team of retired Glasshoughton players and also a team of Glasshoughton Welfare Football Club players.

The winners will be presented with a new trophy in memory of Julian Ward who passed away recently.

There will be a raffle with numerous prizes donated by local businesses. Other attractioons will include a barbecue, face painting and bouncy castle. Everyone is welcome to attend including all players who have been associated with Glasshoughton CC over the years.
