TWO junior members of Knottingley Judo Club came back with medals after travelling to the Richard Dunn Sports Centre at Bradford to compete in the Yorkshire & Humberside Championships.

Nine-year-old Henry Stables (pictured left), competing in the under 12s event, took gold in the under 30kg category, winning all his contests in spectacular fashion to take the title of Yorkshire & Humberside champion for a second successive year.

Team-mate 13-year-old Tom Blacker, competing in the under 16s event, won a bronze in the under 38kg category.

Knottingley coach Peter Simpson said he was very pleased with both boys’ performances and the hard work they are putting in during training.
