Leeds United accept bid from Premier League club for Robert Snodgrass

ROBERT Snodgrass is set to leave Leeds United after the club confirmed a bid has been accepted for the Scottish international.

Snodgrass’s future at Elland Road has been a hot topic of discussion over the summer but the speculation is set to come to an end with the player entering discussions with a Premier League club, understood to be Norwich City.

The 24-year-old has left Leeds’ training camp in Cornwall and his 45-minute appearance in Monday’s friendly clash with Tavistock appears to be his last in a Whites shirt.

“Negotiations have been going on for weeks,” Leeds boss Neil Warnock told the club’s official website.

“I was hoping he would have had a change of heart and I can honestly say that in all my time in football, I’ve never worked as hard in trying to keep a player. He was offered the best contract, the captaincy, and we would have built a team around him so I am very disappointed.”

The Canaries saw two bids rejected for the former Livingston player last week but an improved third bid has now been accepted.

Snodgrass, a key member of the Leeds squad since his arrival at Elland Road in 2008, will join another former White in Jonny Howson at Carrow Road should the move go through.
