Castleford’s bowlers show their class

Castleford and District Crown Green Bowling Association’s senior district squad were in top form against the Yorkshire county side in Sunday’s centenary challenge match at Pontefract Bowling Club.

A large crowd saw Castleford record a 166-108 victory.

Bowling on a beautifully prepared green the Castleford team demonstrated their ability at playing on faster greens better than their opponents.

The match, part of the Castleford Association’s centenary celebrations, was attended by high ranking bowls officials including Yorkshire president Keith Hatzer and British Crown Green deputy president Chris Hasselby who both praised Castleford for their superb performance.
