PONTEFRACT Golf Club captain Jack McKee held a highly-successful captain’s weekend.
The highlight was a chance for members to win a car, supplied by Polar Ford, Castleford.
A three-man competition was won by Paul Kennedy, Tony Glover and Martin Williscroft. The ladies event was won by Janet Coates, ladies captain Chris Davison and Chantelle Shaw.
A raffle at an evening ball raised £600 which will be shared by the Prince of Wales Hospice and the Martin House Hospice.
Nearly 200 men and women competed in a two-player event the following day when there were numerous prizes. The winning men were Stuart Duff and Oliver Westwood, with Terry Foster and Neil Jepson runners up.
Janet Coates and Val Haywood won the ladies prize, with Kath Battye and Lynn Copley runners up.
They were among more than 10 prize winners. There were also competitions for nearest the pin, nearest the line and a hole in one, although no one won the car.
Club captain Mr McKee thanked all those who helped make the weekend successful and also his family and friends for their support.
