Castleford strike gold at tournament

MEMBERS of LA Castleford Youth Bowling Club are making a big impact on the tenpin tournament circuit.

They competed against Huddersfield and Barnsley in a doubles and team event, with each team comprising 10 members.

Castleford’s doubles team of Luke Arnold and Alex Scholey were in top form in their three games in their first tournament appearances. They finished first with a team score of 1,284.

Luke recently joined the team from the training lanes and has been with the club for only six months.

Alex is the club’s first two-handed bowler and has been with the club for just two months.

He is still on the training lanes but showed his ability by winning the handicap game with 251.

In the team competition, Castleford were first with 5,939 pins, with Barnsley (5,915) second and Huddersfield (5,548) third.

Castleford’s Andrew Clark earned first place with a high score scratch game of 178.

All Castleford’s players won gold medals.
