Featherstone Indoor Bowling Club reached the fourth round of the national over 60s double rink competition by beating Harrogate IBC.

Featherstone’s away team of A Lockwood, M Cooney, P Wilshire and A Horabin won 20-19 and the home team of K Griffiths, A Hampshire, J Wade and J Whiteley won 22-18.

Yorkshire over 60s, with the home team playing at Featherstone and made up mainly of Featherstone players, and the away team playing at Carlisle defeated Cumbria to reach the next round of the National Liberty Cup where their next opponents are Lincolnshire.

On Friday, Featherstone A and B teams host Thornaby IBC and Scarborough IBC teams respectively in the over 55s Yorkshire Leagues starting at 12 noon.

Featherstone’s Kieron Earnshaw has won the award for Yorkshire’s best under 25 player for this year.
