Fryston’s opening match is at Wholsea Grange

FRYSTON Angling Club’s new season starts with the annual general meeting next Wednesday (7.30pm) when annual subscriptions are due.

The first match of the season is at Wholsea Grange Fishery, Holme-on-Spalding Moor. Regular matches will be held each Sunday until the end of October.

Castleford’s Kevin Worth won Saturday’s open match on Deer pond at Viking Fishery, Pollington.

Fishing pellets, Worth started slowly but steadily improved his catch rate to land 63lb of carp.

Second was Knottingley’s Dave Firth (56lb), third Knottingley’s Garth Sykes (45lb 10oz) and fourth Selby’s Rob Green (42lb 5oz).

Knottingley Tackle Box’s winter league match on Fox pond was won by R Evans (48lb 8oz). Second was R Copley (25lb 7oz) and third G Gill (25lb 3oz).

Kippax Tackle Box’s spring league match on Hawk pond was won by Stuart Fotheringham (45lb 1oz).

Second was John Gee (31lb 4oz), third Fran Williamson (27lb 12oz) and fourth Alan Smithson (24lb 1oz).
