Knottingley’s SYD Ringside Boxing Club got its first Yorkshire champion in three years in Sheffield last weekend.

Twelve year old Kurt Jackson, of Pontefract, won his toughest fight to date by beating Bradford-based boxer Bilal Ali from Cleckheaton in the final.

In a close first round, Jackson weathered early pressure and then caught his opponent with clean sharp punches.

Ali was on the attack at the start of the next round but Jackson kept his composure and landed some lovely punches.
