Castleford, Pontefract and District Table Tennis League held a highly successful end-of-season annual presentation night at the RAFA Vulcan Club, Pontefract.

All the trophies were presented by league president Alan Hanson.

The league winner’s trophy was presented to team captain Peter Hugill on behalf of YMCA A.

YMCA D captain Gordon Cooper received the Knockout Cup (Upper) on behalf the team.

The KnockoutCup (Lower) was presented to Knottingley A acting team captain Paul Meason.

John Keegan and Chris Inman, both of YMCA B, won the doubles competition trophy.

Bailey Pye (YMCA C) won the junior singles trophy.

The Harold Goldman Trophy was presented to C Station B captain Keith Lumb.

This trophy was presented to the league by a local solicitor who played in the league for many years.

He could always be relied on to turn up when asked and gave his best. He did not achieve too many wins but he was a great sport.

He asked that players showing similar traits as himself be awarded the trophy.

C Station B were fitting winners this year, having competed excellently with little success throughout the season.

Keith Lumb won the draw doubles with Rob Connell and also the over 60s handicap singles competition.

The league’s retiring chairman Marcus Hookham received the Cliff Darley Trophy for service to the league.
