CASTLEFORD RUFC will officially open their refurbished clubhouse on Saturday, April 28.
They are hoping Twickenham-based Rosie Williams, RFU’s new head of local rugby, will attend to cut the ribbon.
Castleford received valuable assistance from the RFU in the form of a grant of just over £40,000 towards the three-phase refurbishment which included a new clubhouse entrance, with new toilets, including a disabled toilet, and storage, an extended and modernised kitchen and a new extension which has provided three new en-suite changing rooms to the full RFU specification.
Castleford are also anviting the Yorkshire RFU president and vice president, members of the facilities committee, local Wakefield district councillors, Castleford Tigers ambassadors Adam Milner and Billy Adams and club sponsors to join them for the day.
The main event at the opening will be a charity match against Cutsyke ARLFC played on a rugby league and rugby union half and half basis.
Castleford are also organising curtain raisers to showcase the club’s junior sides from tag rugby to under 16s and also the girls’ teams.
