Pontefract motocross rider Jordan Eccles has made it three major UK national titles in three years after clinching the Thor British Youth National Open class Championship.

Seventeen-year-old Jordan completely dominated the championship this year, winning 17 races out of a total of 30 over the season, defying injuries along the way.

He did not always have it all his own way as a nasty accident in the fourth round wiped out his 57-point lead, leaving him 15 points adrift going into the last round.

However, the last round being held at his favourite track, Fatcats Moto Parc, Doncaster, meant that he was once again able to be dominant and clinch the title, winning one of the races by over 28 seconds from his nearest rival.

He was still five points adrift going into the final race when it was all to play for and gave it everything he had before coming out on top.

After clinching his latest national crown, Jordan commented: “I am so happy to take this championship and have the trophy in my hands.

“It has been a tough season with injuries, but to come away with my third title in as many years is just fantastic.

“I would like to thank all of my sponsors that have helped me this year, including Dream Ride Florida, Battea, ETF (Peter Eccles pt), Michelin, Putoline, CI Sport, Gaerne, Airoh, Rip N Roll, Malcolm Rathmell Sport, DG Valeting & Detailing, MJMX, M-Tech Tuning, Scorpeo Asset Management, MotoXchange, Motoshack, Body Design Pontefract & Barratt Tanks and I hope that I can continue to reward them with more titles over the coming years.”

Jordan is gearing up now to move into the professional ranks in 2016 and while his team is working hard on putting some deals together he is always on the lookout for anyone that may be willing to help him out.

He added: “My team has done an excellent job over the last few years, but we are always looking for extra sponsors who can help me take my career to the next level.”
