Pontefract’s Premier Squash League play-off hopes were rocked by last night’s (Tuesday) 3-2 defeat at Bristol.

Pontefract’s Lewis Doughty, Patrick Rooney and Evan Williams all lost 3-0 against James Peach, Tom Ford and Josh Masters respectively.

Laura Massaro beat Tesni Evans 3-0 and James Willstrop recovered from 2-1 down to defeat Marwan Elshorbagy 3-2 but it wasn’t enough to rescue Pontefract.

Bristol and Leicester now occupy the top two positions in Division A but it is still possible for any two of the five teams to qualify for the play-offs.

Division A positions: Bristol played 6, won 4, points 85; Leicester 7-4-84; Nottingham 6-4-73; Birmingham 7-2-71; Pontefract 6-2-65.
