Emily Plimmer of Pontefract Athletics Club was in top form at the second West Yorkshire Cross Country League fixture at Bramley on Saturday.

Emily finished sixth out of 61 in the under 11 girls race, recording a time of six minutes, 23 seconds for the distance of approximately 1,500 metres.

Amy Brain ran much better than in the first race at Wakefield, crossing the line in 20th position out of 53 in the under 13 girls race.

Faye Banks had another good run in the senior women’s race, finishing 24th out of 91. Scott Daly ran well in the senior men’s race to finish 64th out of 151.

At the South Yorkshire Indoor Athletics meeting at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield, Emily Plimmer finished first in the under 11 girls 600 metres in two minutes, two seconds.

Isabelle Stones was second in the under 11 girls long jump with 3.81 metres and Isabelle set a club record of 9.54 seconds for the 60 metres sprint.

Sam Schofield set a club record for under 11 boys in the 60 metres with 10.35 seconds.

In the Wistow 10K road race, Scott Daly set a personal best of 37 minutes 34 seconds. Michael Flaherty also ran well to finish as the third man over 50 in 40 minutes, five seconds.
