Rebecca Bell of Pontefract Athletics Club was in winning form for the second week running in Sunday’s Spenborough open meeting.
Rebecca started the day by winning the under 11 girls shot putt with a throw of 5.37 metres. She then won the 600 metres in two minutes 00.1 seconds after fighting off a challenge from club colleague Abigail Clegg, who was second in 2:01.0.
Rebecca then finished third in the final of the 150 metres in 23.8 seconds. Abigail finished third in the long jump with 3.50 metres.
Maria Schofield won the under 13 girls high jump with 1.30 metres. She was also second in the shot putt with 8.35 metres and second in the discus ith 18.49 metres.
Lewis Schofield was second in all three of his events. He clocked 14.2 seconds in the under 15 boys 80 metres hurdles, he cleared 4.55 metres in the long jump and he registered 8.27 metres in the shot putt.
Will Redmond did well in the under 17 men’s long jump, finishing second with 5.57 metres. He also clocked 12.5 in the 100 metres.
Cameron Howes was also in good form in the under 13 boys high jump. He came second in that event with a clearance of 1.38 metres.
Will Carter finished third in all three of his events in the under 17 men’s age group. Throwing into a strong headwind, he achieved 31.99 metres in the javelin and 25.12 metres in the discus. He also recorded 18.6 seconds in the 100 metres hurdles.
In Sunday’s Tholthorpe 10K road race, Scott Daly finished 15th out of 269 in 38 minutes 57 seconds.
