Rob Sproston won Featherstone Road Club’s championship ride at Pollington on Monday evening.

It was also the final event in the club’s handicap series.

Despite high winds making the course very challenging, Sproston achieved a 45 seconds personal best improvement to finish 15 seconds ahead of second-placed Sean Newbould.

Ann Harris managed a 19 seconds personal best improvement.

RESULTS: R Sproston 19:18 (25.22 mph average), S Newbould 19:33 (24.9), P Harris 20:18 (23.9), C Lines 20:36 (23.6), D Tilford 21:00 (23.1), G Wright 21:47(22.35), Ann Harris 24.04 (20:23).

The last event of the season next Monday is a social ride.

Five members of South Elmsall RC covered around 42 miles when they rode to Seedings cafe, near Carlton Towers, led by Graham Price and Paul Foulds with Steve Worthy keeping them together.

Karl Caton rode the Team Jadan 10 miles TT at Hull, recording 20:31.

Steve Scott travelled to Rhigos, in South Wales, to record his personal best ever 25 miles time of 56:02 in the Bynea CC event. John Martin and Karl Caton helped to marshall the Team Swift 12 hours TT at Pocklington.

This weekend’s club rides leave Barnsley Oak crossroads at 9am.
