Joint leaders YMCA A and YMCA B continue to battle it out at the top of Castleford, Pontefract and District Table Tennis League.

They meet in a vital match mid-way through next month when YMCA B will be out to avenge a 7-3 defeat against their title rivals.

On form, neither team is expected to falter before next month’s top of the table showdown.

Both teams have 21 points from 11 matches, with 10 victories and one defeat.

YMCA B eased to a 9-1 win against C Station A.

Graham Wylie playing for the first time this season, won all his three games for YMCA B.

He beat Richard Lumb and Rob White over three and Richard Fry over four.

Fry put up strong resistance before he was beaten.

Carl Keegan dropped a game to Richard Lumb, losing over five sets, but he beat Rob and Richard over three.

Chris Inman won all his games over three sets.

Carl and Chris won the doubles over three.

YMCA A went one better than their championship rivals by collecting maximum points.

They coasted to a 10-0 victory over C Station B 10-0.

Alan Hanson, returning after a short break, showed his class beating his all opponents.

He defeated Richard Lumb over four and Dave Tennant and Rob White over three sets.

John Senior won all his three games, beating Richard over three, Dave over four and Rob over three sets.

Peter Hugill dropped the opening set to Richard but won the remaining three convincingly and he finished in three sets over Dave and Rob.

John and Peter completed the rout by winning the doubles comfortably over three sets.
