KNOTTINGLEY’S SYD Ringside Boxing Club host an evening of amateur boxing at Kellingley Social Centre tomorrow (Friday).

It will be sixth tournament staged by the club and promises to be the most successful to date.

There are 17 scheduled fights involving boxers aged 11 to around 27.

Some of the fighters will be from as far afield Billericay Boxing Club in Essex.

Wakefield’s Cain Adams will be boxing for a Yorkshire title belt.

Nineteen-year-old Adams is a very classy boxer with an impressive record and is up against Sheffield’s Uzair Najib who also has a great record. It promises to be a cracking fight.

Josh Milner from Castleford will be first on the bill for SYD. He takes on Conner Kelsell (Doncaster).

Second up will be Castleford’s Dave Simpson who is boxing Kadeem Musteek from Sheffield.

SYD’s third fighter will be Sam McLean - the two times Yorkshire champion - who takes on Daniel Holiday from County Durham.

SYD’S Kieron Rayner from Knottingley will be in action against Barnsley’s Jack Churchill from Barnsley. Light heavyweight Ashley Plum will be the last of the SYD boxers on show in a bout against Shaun Hare (Leeds) which should be an excellent contest.

SYD Ringside Club are advising people to buy tickets for the tournament as quickly as possible because they are selling fast and there will be no door sales.
