BRENDON Ormsby’s 22 month tenure as manager of Pontefract Collieries has ended by mutual consent with the club.

The former Leeds United captain and Aston Villa player, who took over the reins at Colls in February 2011, ended his reign before Saturday’s game against Albion Sports with the club in eighth place in the Baris NCE Division One table.

Ormsby’s former assistant managers, Duncan Bray and Nick Handley, have taken over the management of the team with immediate effect. The appointment has been made on an interim basis, with a view to a permanent move.

The club have thanked Ormsby for his efforts during his time at the club and wished him every success for the future.
