Featherstone gymnasts sparkle at Diamonds

FEATHERSTONE Gymnastics Club members excelled at a level seven competition at Diamonds Gymnastics Club, Halifax.

Caitlin Haffenden’s outstanding performance earned her a third place overall, including a gold medal on beam and a bronze medal on bars.

Also competing in the age 10 age group was Millie Burdekin (10th overall).

Rhea Cartwright gained a bronze medal on vault and eighth position overall in the 11/12 age group. Caitlin Smith (fifth vault) and Alex Hopper (16th overall) also competed.

Lydia Beddis and Nell Sherrington both gave strong performances in the age eight category.

Libby Aitcheson came fourth on vault and second on floor and Savannah Noor-Foster and Isabelle Amery also gave good all round performances in the age seven category.

In the age 13 plus category, Rebekah Cockerham came second on beam and fourth on floor with an excellent performance. Ellie Davey and Leah Poulter also gave good performances, finishing seventh and 12th.

Competing in the level six finals at York Gymnastics Centre, Featherstone’s Lauren Morley came tenth overall and gained sixth place on beam with a sterling performance.
